What Precisely is an Electronic Book or an E-book?

An e-book or electronic book is a completely electronic
version of a book. It is available only on your computer. Generally it is
downloaded from a website. This could be on the author’s own website, on an
e-book directory, from a sales page, or from a bookstore like Amazon.
I call an e-book and intangible information product or
info-product. You have no paper. You haven’t killed any trees. You have no
production, printing, or publishing costs. It’s just electronic bits of
information. And the cool thing is, while you not only have no production
costs, the reader and purchaser of your e-book will be paying you a fee (unless
you offer it for free as a promotional tool) and the reader also pays the cost
of paper and ink if they print it out.
